The Argumentation Lab of the NOVA Institute of Philosophy, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking to recruit two Post-Doctoral Fellows in the scope of the Project MultiPoD – Multilingual and Multicultural Spaces for Political Deliberation, funded by the European Commission under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The work will be carried out under the scientific
supervision of the project’s Principal Investigator in Portugal, Professor Marcin Lewiński,
and the team member, Dr Giulia Terzian.
Deadline for applications: 31 January 2026
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Philosophy or a related field obtained in the three years prior to the date of submission of the grant application.
Preference will be given to applications that fulfil the following requirements:
· fluency in English (and, preferably, Portuguese or Spanish);
· research experience in Argumentation Theory, Philosophy of Language, Social Epistemology or Political Philosophy;
· experience working in funded research projects;
· ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multilingual research team environment.
The grants are expected to start in April 2026 and last until November 2027
The scholarship amount is 1851,00€ net per month according to the table of scholarship values directly attributed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). This value is increased by the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance.
