CEA-Saclay will hire a postdoctoral researcher to work with Dr. Alexei Grinbaum (chair of the CEA Operational Digital Ethics Committee) on a European research and innovation project in the field of human-robot collaboration.

 

Beginning Fall 2023, your role within the project will be to apply the EU operational guidelines for responsible AI, in particular the ALTAI assessment list and the emerging framework of the AI Act, in order to accompany and to improve the design of machine learning components in accordance with the human-centered values and principles. You will work in close collaboration with technical teams, paying particular attention to avoiding unfair bias and other types of discrimination in machine learning, as well as protecting privacy and dignity.

 

You will join a dynamic and international team of researchers currently working on several other projects in the field of technology ethics. You will also get first-hand experience in ethics evaluation of research projects.

 

Requirements:

PhD in philosophy of science, ethics, sociology of science, science and technology studies, innovation studies or a related area. Track record of research publications in English. A complementary scientific background, skills in working across disciplines, and an interest in science and technology governance will be appreciated.

Fluent oral and written English is mandatory. French is not mandatory.

Details:

The position is expected to be filled between October 2023 and January 2024.

Initial duration 15 months (renewable up to additional 24 months).

Your office be will on the CEA-Saclay campus 20 km south of Paris. Transportation to and from Paris is easy and subsidized.
