Call for Proposals for a special issue of
Serendipities. Journal for the Sociology and History of the Social Sciences
Serendipities is an independent, peer reviewed, academic journal published by the Royal Danish Library. It is open access with no publishing fees. Our contributers and readers come from countries all around the world, sharing our interest in the history of the social sciences and the sociology of knowledge. We publish academic articles (both theoretical and empirical), translations, book reviews, and have forums to encourage debate. In addition to our general issues, we publish special issues on a specific theme, introduced and managed by our Special Issue Guest Editor(s). Past issues have included:
Inequalities in the Social Sciences, Guest Edited by Pierre Benz, Johanna Gautier Morin, Elisa Klüger and Thierry Rossier, International Circulations and (Volume 8, 2023).
In addition, Serendipities has a forthcoming special issue:
Governing (by) Expertise. The Politics of Social Scientific Knowledge Production, Guest Edited by Christian Bessy, Arthur Jatteau, Frédéric Lebaron, Vincent Gengnagel and Christian Schmidt-Wellenburg (Volume 10, 2025).
If you would like to propose a special issue for our collection, please feel free to discuss this with us (or other board members) or, if your ideas are further advanced, send us a one-to-two page proposal.
