My university and research group studies "Global COE for Education,

Cultural Heritage and Historic Cities (Global-DMUCH)" at the Research

University".

The Global-COE program is a national science project. Disaster related
programs are provided by only 2 universities and are chosen by the
Monbusho Scholars and Japan Society for Promotion of Science. One is
our Global-DMUCH and the other is Urban Disaster Mitigation, Tokyo
Institute of Technology.

Our center is the only one providing international training for
disaster mitigation of urban cultural heritage covering both heritage
conservation and disaster mitigation including protection of tourists
from disasters.

We had a special session at World Conference of Historical Cities
2010.

My laboratory mainly studies community based risk management including
