Hey, Ya’ll.  This is the truth:  Door knocking is fun!  I knocked on many, many doors this last weekend and spoke to a lot of homeowners.  All of them were courteous, many listened to what I had to say (in less than 60 seconds) and some were interested enough to have thoughtful conversations. I may well have converted one global warming skeptic to vote for Charles on the basis of public accountability for the board of directors.  I knocked on every door in the neighborhood I was assigned.  I worked a couple hours, took a break for a snack and cold soda, and then worked a little more. The time goes amazingly fast, and I am confident I moved a number of people into considering, and probably, voting for Charles.  If you want a practice run Saturday morning I’d be glad to show you how it is done.  Or if one or two of you want to go with me for the first half hour or so, that will work, too.  I am not the least bit aggressive in my approach and do not intrude myself on anyone for more than15 seconds (if I can see that they are feeling intruded upon.)  This is a good deed we are trying to accomplish for all IREA members.  Jump in and feel good(er) about yourselves!
