IREA Voices - District 3 unofficial ballot results

Though he was unsuccessful in his bid, everyone please join me in congratulating Mike Galvin for his efforts to bring reform to IREA in district 3.  The ballot results unfortunately favored the do-nothing incumbent.  The final, unofficial tally is as follows:

For Sperry    3167
For Galvin     2613
Disqualified   21
 
As Mike Galvin sums it up, "while we didn’t win, we made them pay attention (at least during the campaign!)" 

Thank you Mike!  Your efforts, like all member-owners who participate in our co-op, help to steer IREA back toward a course that gives access to all of us instead of only a select few.

I suggest we all get together for a BBQ at someone’s house or some central place that has good ribs and cold beer to celebrate our learning curve and our effort.  Our work was not in vain.  We learned a lot and next time around I’m sure we will apply the lessons more fruitfully.  A swing of 278 votes in Mike’s district would have put him over the top.
