Hello IREA Voices members and future members!

To help us, regular every-day citizens, regain control of our electric co-operative we need three things to happen:

1.  We need, and have, good candidates

2.  We need support staff to help spread the message of our candidates

3.  We need MONEY to support #1 and #2.

Money is the lubricant of any campaign.  We are starting from ground zero with our efforts so the more cash we raise, the more likely it is that our candidates will take a place on the board of directors at IREA.  One of the nice things about our effort will be that it is a short term campaign.  We only need to work hard and raise money for six to eight weeks.  WE CAN DO THIS!  YOU CAN DO THIS!

Please, contribute financially to the cause.  Ask all of your friends and neighbors.  We have three candidates who are willing to give up a lot of their time to run for, and hopefully serve on, the IREA board.  They want to improve our lives, the performance of IREA, and our planet's health.

*Give so much money it no longer hurts.  Only you know how much that is. Make it a lot!  Do it today!

*Sign over your IREA rebate checks to "Home Town Community Foundation", endorse it with your name, and mail it c/o Neil Preister, 618 Villa Drive #2021, Castle Rock, CO 80108.  Learn more http://www.rmfu.org/foundation/foundation-community/.

*Send in an amount matching your rebate check with a personal check of the same amount.  These are pretty small amounts.  You will never miss them, but your co-op will be strengthened by them.  Send personal checks to Neil at his address and made out to "Home Town Community Foundation" with IREA Voices on the memo line.

Have a Frosty the Snow Man yard sale and donate all the proceeds to Voices. Or have a Tahiti Tango yard sale and wear your Speedo suit in the snow. It'll be a memorable event!  Or sell stuff on E-Bay and donate the proceeds.

Buy a Voices t-shirt for everyone in your family and all of you wear them to school or work.  You will be fascinated by the unexpected responses.

Hi folks,

To head off any more concern about an email from a new person through IREA Voices, please know that Chuck Saxton has hesitantly worked his way into the role of Fundraising Coordinator for us during the crucial board elections.  Please do what you can to help us out financially, as a working budget will make a huge difference in supporting our candidates (more info on the candidates coming soon).  Maybe if we get a lot of orders for t-shirts, Chuck will whole-heartedly take on his new role.

Speaking of t-shirts, there are two designs that we are offering:

A. "got voice?"  white letters on black cotton

B. "My co-op spent $366 million on a coal burning power plant, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."

Both designs have the same text on back:  "IREA Voices:  Creating a new IREA One voice at a time"

I am attaching a pdf of the t-shirt designs, and both are black t-shirts with white letters.  We are also working on making bumper stickers available.

Please respond to order your shirts making note of the quantity of each design you would like and the sizes (s, m, l, xl).  The t-shirts are $20 each, and all proceeds are going to help get new board members elected.  Send your check for the shirts to the address listed below.  If you signed over your capital credit rebate check last year to Voices, you should recognize that we are using the same method through the RMFU in order for you to make your donations tax-deductible.  Make your checks out to the Hometown Community Foundation with IREA Voices on the memo line.

Thank you so much everyone, and let's make sure some new board members get elected!
