Call for Applications to join the Leadership Team of the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN)

Dear Colleagues,  

The Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN) has recently released a call for applications to join its Leadership Team and various positions are opened to be fulfilled within the Network.

If you know any young person who has passion, expertise, and experience about climate change issues with a focus on young people’s participation and role, at the grassroots, national and/or global level, please encourage them to apply for one of these positions. We will also be delighted to receive your own application if interested.

The CYCN aims to build the capacity of young people in their endeavours to address climate change and other environmental issues, and advocate on climate change from a youth perspective. It is led by a youth team made of a Network Coordinator, five Steering Committee members, four Regional Coordinators, and 54 Country Coordinators. The team meets monthly (online) to coordinate, monitor, evaluate, and track progress and achievements of their work, while engaging other young people in its activities.  

In order to achieve its vision and mission, the CYCN is now looking for dynamic, outstanding and well talented young persons to serve a two-year mandate as members of the Steering Committee and Regional Coordinators in order to facilitate the Network’s activities, develop its strategic plan 2016–2018, implement projects and programmes which mobilize wider members across the regions, and contribute to raise the CYCN’s profile. The selected applicants will work with the new Network Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of the CYCN while mainstreaming young people’s participation in the climate change agenda, and coordinate the Commonwealth Secretariat's Youth Division engagement with young people at grassroots level in the area of climate change. 2. Regional Coordinator for the Asia region 

3. Regional Coordinator for the Caribbean & The Americas region 

4. Regional Coordinator for the Pacific region

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 29 May, 2016 at 11:59 PM GMT+1 (London Time). All applications should be sent via email to secre...@youthclimate.org.uk. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please note that a closed call was separately sent out to fulfill the Network Coordinator position, and targeted a limited list of identified young leaders, youth-led and youth-focused organisations from across the Commonwealth.
