When I initially pressed the rubber "flush button" nothing happened, except once the  interior lights dimmed.  I dismantled the toilet and found that the loosened pump motor can work on occasion when poised just right, but I cannot not remove the pump.  I think the impeller housing is preventing removal.  After removing the toiled from the seat I could

see some metal "paddles' that did not move.  I want to remove the pump and toy with it to try to determine the problem.  The Installation Manual was not helpful in this regard but has a good exploded diagram.   The part number for the pump is Model 160L1912.

Does anyone have advice, esp. as to how to remove the pump?
