A beautiful day met five Nonsuch yachts in Port Jefferson for an afternoon raft up. Five boats were there and one Nonsuch ( LOON / Newport) was represented by their owners aboard Aloki. Boats in attendance ,
Cake Walk III  NS 30 with Peter 2  Grabow single handing
Aloki  NS30 with Lily & Gary Forster and guest crew Christina & Juan Corradi
Cleo    NS33 with Laura & Gregg Dancho aboard.
Irish Mist  NS33 with Shellie and Peter 1 De Pascale aboard
Bliss   NS30 with Katrina & Peter 3 Drace & good dog, Cassio

If you wonderd about numbering the Peters it stems from last years Labor Day raft up. As boats began rafting it became clear we had quite a few ‘Peters’ aboard and a method to identify which one we were speaking towards was needed.  As they arrived, the numbering began. Coincidently, my middle name is - Peter.
Christina & Juan were aboard Aloki as each couple have crewed aboard each other’s boats for close to four decades. Peter 2 single handed as his wife Susan was unfortunately  occupied at home. Laura and Gregg graciously changed the “anchor” plan to their YC mooring and Peter 1 quickly removed his helm wheel after rafting up with is wife Sheila -looking on. Katrina and Peter 3 brought smiles and cocktail snacks that would have won an award in a competition.
Tours of each other’s  boats, ideas and sea stories were exchanged but Peter 2 I believe is destined to become the Nonsuch raconteur at large. After his recent trip to Maine with his wife Susan , the stories were straight out of a Peter Sellers movie ( another Peter! ) Eventually , eleven Nonsuchers piled together in one cockpit for a cocktail hour for the books. From Fillet mignon to smoked duck breast along with various cheeses and figs everyone probably groaned when the idea of diner was mentioned.
But as planned, and after Gregg blew his conch horn , the raft up broke up just before sunset where everyone grabbed various moorings for the night. A calm night was had and goodbyes were shared in the morning. We had a ball, Gary

After a lengthly cocktail discussion regarding pizza and appropriate pronunciation,  Peter 1 declared the proper way to say - pizza.
Turns out - he was right!
