Mascouche never had one. All the early Nonsuches never had a bow pulpit or taffrail. I guess it was to keep weight out of the ends and the thought that all lines led to the cockpit there was little need to venture forward to the tiny foredeck. Mascouche has a taffrail now but I believe Elephant is not encumbered with one.

Our grand kids absolutely LOVE the bow pulpit.  We have the one with the seat, also useful when removing weed from the anchor.

As far as I can determine, La Reina did not have a pulpit when she left the factory. The lifeline terminus fittings are still on the deck. A pulpit was added later. It does not have the comfy seat but neither does it extend the length overall when it comes time to pay for the slip.

Hi, I didn't see this previously mentioned, and I have a 30 Ultra so could be different on a 26C, but you may have to pull the mast to properly install a bow pulpit. I think it will need to be thru bolted and you want to properly seal the deck holes to prevent any possible water ingress to deck core. So you want plan other mast and foredeck maintenance items for the time the mast is out. Perhaps your windlass needs to be serviced, if you have one.

To the best of my knowledge, Stainless Outfitters built many of the NS bow pulpits during their production run. They made my davits and I have talked to them about making an anchor pulpit for the bow. They are very good to work with.

I'll see if I have good pictures of Serenity's pulpit.  She has both a floor and a seat in teak, though I cannot at the moment remember where the anchor rollers are.  My Samson post is further aft, though, at deck level between the windlass and mast.

Best image I have at the moment.  his would have been last spring when I was dinking around with the windlass, so ignore the anchor chain is off to the side.  After dumping the anchor in the drink once, I tied it off to the Samson post.

Both seat and floor are solid teak, finished in Cetol.  I've moved on from Cetol and am now using Halcyon, which is what the toe rail is finished with.

My youngest is braver than I am; he plops himself on the seat and listens to his music while we're meant to be doing boat chores...

Ours is almost equivalent, I believe the name on it says stainless outfitters, Barrie Ontario. 

However, the horizontal bar joining the two sides is on the forward vertical, maybe 8 inches off the deck. The club that it was at for most of its life was med mooring, bow in, and with the anchor roller thing having wood planks on port side, would make hopping on and off easier.

Having the horizontal bar 8 inches just where a windlass would go is a bit of an issue…

This is the boat’s second pulpit, as it had an early mast failure going downwind, and some repairs around the two stanchions on starboard are obvious to a trained eye, as are the original pulpit fastening holes.

Hi this is Doug from Klacko Marine,

Ask me anything. I have no intention of soliciting here...so please moderate if needed.

We were the primary fabricators for these....and still have a FG splash of the 26-30 bow and original jigs from day one. 

For sometime we would actually have these in our stock as replacements. However over the years, the demand dropped and we just build to order.

Three Versions major versions that existed (and who is the best to get from)

1. Deck Mount Bow Pulpit with or without walkthru  is best sourced from Stainless Outfitters in Barrie, ON.  

2. Bowsprit /Anchor Roller without integrated pulpit. Klacko Marine Niagara

3. Bowsprit with three legged bow pulpit. Klacko Marine Niagara

4. There are plenty of custom versions of the above, especially if they needed to be replaced and another fabricator built it. 

Some have already asked about mounting a new bow pulpit on a bowsprit without sockets.

Two methods.

1. You remove and bring your bowsprit to us. We will weld on the sockets and bowpulpit in the shop. We will polish your old sprit up to almost new.

2. We can send chamfered sockets and bow pulpit. You have a local fabricator weld them using the bow pulpit as the pattern/locator. 

3. You will need to make up new lifelines to reach the new bow pulpit.
