Dear Guys,

To keep you up to date.

We will need to provide names and dietary requirements ASAP to ensure that we have our seats.

As you will see - there are seriously cut priced tickets for partners but these do have to be covered yourself.

Can you please respond to me with your ticket/dietary requests and we will do our very best to get everyone who wants to go a ticket.

This event was completely sold out last year and I don’t think it will be different this year.

The Engineering Excellence Awards Dinner is looking like it will be a huge success again this year with a good number of sponsored tables. As you already know the Dinner Committee decided to go for a cheaper, smaller venue last year and booked the Lowrey Compass Room which is above the Lowrey Theatre. Almost everyone said how good the venue was so the dinner committee has decided to use it again this year, despite the limitation of its size. 

This year we will be entertained by the Institution's CEO Alice Bunn who will talk about "Space" and we will have the Institution President Clive Hickman as our Guest. 

Such is the success selling sponsored tables that the remaining space again is limited,  I have reserved 40 seats for I Mech E committee members (I wanted to reserve more but the dinner committee could not confirm any increase yet). I therefore need each committee to let me know how any seats they require  as soon as possible. (with names and any special menu requirements)  We will try and meet everyone’s expectations however I expect the maximum number from any committee to be limited to 10.  

Subject to availability additional seats and seats for partners may be available at £45 each (not to be paid from Committee Funds!). The seats may be allocated on a first come first served basis so the committees which respond soonest are more likely to be able to get the seats they require. I would also require notification of any special dietary requirements or food allergies at the same time. 

The dinner committee cannot be held responsible for any menu requirements not notified at this point and The Region retain the right to charge anyone for seats booked and not filled without good reason. This latter (unpleasant) warning follows the number of free seats booked for last years dinner which still had to be paid for despite the guest failing to appear.  

We will enjoy the live band playing after the dinner and have the usual raffle with all profits going to a good local cause (Christies TBC.)

 Discounted parking vouchers will be available and we are trying to secure a deal with a local hotel for discounted accommodation details, of which will follow soon.

 

Please could the panel chair complete and return the attached table to me ASAP. I will record the date of receipt for fairness, if we have to apply the "First Come first served rule"
