Dear all,
I hope you can help us!
The Caspian Horse Society (UK) has set up a page on the donation site
'justgiving.com' to raise funds to help Caspian breeders in the states of Queensland and Victoria with the enormous cost of obtaining fodder following the terrible floods. The main feed growing area in the Queensland area is the Lockyer Valley, which was completely inundated, ruining growing crops and hay.
Although some of the Caspian Horses came dangerously close to being swept away by raging floodwaters, all have survived. thanks to the dilligence and sleepless nights of their owners. But they face really tough times ahead. Feedstuffs and hay that were already difficult to obtain and expensive thanks to drought before the floods, will have to be shipped long distances and are now only available at hugely inflated prices.
If you would like to help with a donation towards this fund, please click on the link below, where you can access the Flood Appeal. All donations will be shared (via the CHS) amongst the Australian Caspian breeders affected. If you have friends or family who might be interested in helping, you can help by forwarding this email and link to them.
Thank you in advance. We are most grateful for anything you can do to help!
Liz Webster
