Robin Quinney, whose wife, Jennie owns the Eastern Stud in
Worcestershire, England, died suddenly on October 1st after a short
illness. Robin and Jennie were active members of the UK Society until
deteriorating eye sight compelled Robin to curtail some of his
activities. Delegates who attended the international Conference in
Texas will also remember Robin.
I am sure that you will all join me in sending condolences to Jennie.

Robin and Jenny Quinney were stalwart members of the British Caspian
Society/Trust and Caspian Horse Society. They started the Eastern
Stud at their home, Eastern Hill, near Redditch, with Hopstone
Caspians, bred by my mother and I. Jenny had been a highly successful
competitor and breeder of top quality show horses before she purchased
Caspians and always produced and turned out her Caspians to high
standards in the Caspian Breed Shows, in which she was a leading
competitor. She also showed and drove Caspians in many national and
county shows. In all of this and much more, she was supported and
encouraged by Robin, always a great friend to the Caspians. Sadly his
deteriorating eyesight and Jenny's failing health meant the end of the
high involvement with Caspians that they had once given so willingly,
although they still own two Caspians at the present time.

Robin's sudden death is a shock to all of us who marvelled at how
upbeat he remained, despite near blindness. All who knew him in the
Caspian world will miss his larger-than-life character, and send
heartfelt condolences to Jenny and the family..

I never met Robin or Jennie Quinney, but know of them via other
English Caspian owner, and wish to send my condolences to Mrs.
Quinney.

Please add my sympathies as well. Though I did not know the Quinney's,
their Eastern prefix appears in many of my pedigrees including a mare and a
stallion both sired by Eastern Jehani, both of whom I treasure.

Although we never got to know them in person, one of our favorite Caspians included Eastern Jehani and many of his offspring. Please offer our sincere condolences to Jennie from Francie and Chuck and the Kristull Caspians.

Thanks to all who have written such messages.  Just to let you know that the next CHS Magazine will feature an obituary on Robin plus memories from friends, and will also include condolences from people who didn't know Robin but who have known and appreciated the Eastern stock.
