A Thank-you from Brenda

To all Member Societies of the ICS and individual members of those
Societies:

There are no words that can match how I feel about the kindness and
thoughtfulness behind the lovely gift that was given to me on my
retirement as International Registrar.
I would have found it very hard to attend any sort of presentation
ceremony and I am very grateful to Angie and Liz (who had a four hour
drive) for their thoughtfulness in making it a private occasion and
for giving up their time. Flowers or a meal would have been lovely
gestures on their own but to be given these and the most beautiful
crystal engraving of Shirine, who was so precious to me, was
overwhelming As if this wasn’t already so very generous, I was amazed
to be handed a cheque for the balance of the donations made. That so
many people were so generous is awesome and it is impossible to tell
you all how grateful I am.
Many years ago, I had a bracelet made from the tail hairs of Shirine
and the first daughter and son I bred from her. I would now like to
spend the money from the cheque to do the same with the tail hair of
her same coloured daughter.Spark Shirine Shara , and a son and
daughter, in the form of a matching necklace.
I am humbled by the kindness of everyone who has contributed to this
lovely gift, which will become a family heirloom, and I hope you will
understand how deeply grateful I am.

Although I have privately thanked the individual studs and societies
for the unique gifts that were given to me on my retirement, in
addition to that of the ICS, I feel that I should also acknowledge
them publicly. I was, and still am, totally overwhelmed by the
generosity and kindness shown to me and I just want to say thank you
again for gifts that will be loved and treasured throughout my life,
as will the people involved.
