I’m new here but a long Time User of IBM 4690 dating back to Version 1. I am currently Running 4690 V6 R2 with ACE V7 I can’t find any documentation on how to program the Department Keys.

I can View and Edit my Customized Keyboard Layout Options. USB 50 Key With Opeator Display.

9 Department Keys Work
00000000999900 thru 00000000999909
ADXKBF02 uses Codes 200 to 209 for these Key.

I want to add two more Dept Keys and don’t know which item numbers to ad 000000009XX and which numbers to use as the codes.

I’m hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Chas Barstow

In ACE Personalization/Options/Lookup/Keys, you'll find the Department Lookup keys.  The "ID" 1 corresponds to Code 200, ID 2 = 201, 3 = 202, etc.  So, the first 9 are working, so you'll go to ID 10, which corresponds to Code 209, and enter the PLU of your desired department key ring in the Lookup Key field.
THEN, in your Keyboard definition (adxkbf02), you'll need to provide a Key for that code 209.
Save/Activate and reload the terminal.
It should then be that the Key represented by 209 in your Keyboard Layout, will ring to that Department!
