We have all of our cashiers' birthdays entered into the system and the operator age override set to manager for all alcoholic items.
To demonstrate our problem, here is an example. A customer comes to the register with three alcoholic items and other assorted groceries. The underage cashier see the alcoholic items, sets them aside, scans the other items and when done with those they summon a manager to their register. The manager scans the first alcoholic item, enters the customers DOB and then gets the message stating that the cashier is underage. They insert their key, and enter their code to ring the item. Now, if they attempt to ring the second item they are prompted to remove the key. They do so, ring the second item, and have to do another override. So they have to turn the key and enter their code again. This continues until all other age restricted items are rang.
This just seems like such a hassle. Is there someway to remove the requirement to remove the key and retain the override status for the remainder of the ticket? Is there possibly some other solution that I may not be aware of (other than removing the operator age restriction)? I've gone through the documentation and the system itself and can't find a way around it.
Thank you.
