Has anyone configured one of the new MX900 series yet?  I am trying to load the MX925.  I used the "green MX8xx" cable in order to load my tgz file from a USB stick.  I can't get the pin pad to recognize the yellow USB  cable when I try that option and can't get the download started when using conventional RS232.  I didn't see anything from Toshiba but thought "prayed" someone else may have already fought this battle a took down some notes they wouldn't mind sharing.

Thanks

Max

I have been using both the 915 and 925 in my lab for months. I use a green cable to load the TGZ files and then the purple cable on the lanes using tailgate.

Have you triple checked your EPS device options in the controller to make sure they match the sig pad? Also I needed a new EFTL file for the 900 series.

We have almost 1000 915/925 pin pads installed.  Most on green cables.
The yellow cable requires a special setup on the server and use com5 on the pin pad.  Look in the eps guide.

Thanks Glen.  I was reading ver 1 of the V7 EPS which says you can't use USB.  I then realized their was a 2nd set of documentation for V7 EPS which I pulled and it is helpful.
Did you create your own EFTL file or did Verifone furnish it?

My eftl files are just forms.

A few things to keep in mind, on the Mx9 series the files on the units are signed and use certificates, where on the Mx8 series this was an option.  Without a valid certificate for your particular unit, the unit will load but the files will not be installed.  You can load these USB stick (green cable) or as EFTL files. For a USB cable connection ensure that you are using the latest PinPad OS (released a few weeks ago) there are quite a few USB issues resolved there.  Also ensure that your terminal is enhanced and that you have the USB serial port enabled in terminal configuration.

I'm apparently missing something obvious.  I have a signed tgz file w certificate from Verifone, as well as an EFTL file they sent.  I've loaded the tgz file easy enough but the 925 is sitting there saying This Lane is Closed - Param Download required.  I just pulled an MX-860 off this lane that loads fine.  I am using the same parameter file as the 860 but switched the EFTL file to the one Verifone sent.  I'm using the same green cable as I did with the 860.  Whether I reload the terminal or reboot it, it goes right by pin pad download like it's not attached.  Yet when I sign on to the lane I don't get an error like you do when there is no pin pad attached.
Any ideas?  Thanks

Do you have the pinpad configured for 'Tailgate'?  Com port 2 I believe with that cable.

Correction  - Looks like COM3 for that cable.

Under Administration>Communication>ECR I selected every tailgate option it had and kept getting "Failed to connect to USB port - Please ck cable" errors.  I used ECR>Feature C comm 3  and I don't get errors but it's as if the terminal doesnt see the pin pad.

I knew it was something simple.  I failed to see the RTS option in the ECR configuration.  Once set it downloaded just fine.  Thanks for everyone's help.

I am implementing the MX925 in a lab environment. What files do I need to download to the pinpad and how can I download them. The pinpad is a USB interface. This is in preparation for the roll out of eWic.
