We rolled out EWIC in Arkansas and now they are getting complaints in the Produce departments because the cut fruit that they put in cups that are bar coded on their scales
don't ring as EWIC Eligible and per the state they are. Obviously these bar codes are not part of the state APL file. We have been told there is way to to map some available numbers
they have provided to the existing items. does anyone have experience with this that can tell me how to get this done?

I am 5 hours away from my documentation but I think you can use the  alias pricing method to accomplish this

Hey Ben,
If you could call me on Monday that would be fine. I have something else I need to talk to about as well.

Thanks!

You put the IFPS code on the item record of the barcoded fruit to match your target PLU that is wiccable.

Thanks Zack. Youalso have to be running the 169 byte record. Be sure to turn the field on in database personalization.

I’ll have to double check that but I believe we have always used 256byte records.

Agreed with above.  Turn on the IFPS Field in Ace > Store > Database, then in Item Management, the IFPS Code field will display in one of the tabs. Use this to map non-standard items (barcoded produce, Type 2 weighted items, etc) to a specific IFPS Code. This will map the item to whatever IFPS code it matches in the APL file.

As part of the EWIC setup you should be adding PLU 4469 (44691 with ck digit) in ACE as a Generic Frt/Veg item , to be used for this type of mapping.  You WIC contractor should be aware of the code.
