Working with the publisher is a new experience for me (Krag kindly handled all that for PRAGMATIC Security Metrics).  I'm starting to appreciate the reasons for the long delay between submitting the manuscript (in April+May) and publication (mid-December).   There's a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

The editorial comments in the copyedited version resulted from an impressively detailed and professional review, finding tiny little inconsistencies in grammar and punctuation that I'd missed.  I've been working on the glossary content consistently for about 25 years, reviewing and updating it at least once a month, plus I invested about 3 months solid near the end in a more thorough check - and yet still I missed some.  Seems I'm only human after all!    

Of more concern: quality issues with the technical content are down to me - factual errors, misinterpretations, misunderstandings, missing entries, that sort of thing.  I'm hoping readers will raise them through this group so we can debate them and I can update/correct the master copy accordingly, ready for the next edition.   And so the journey continues. 

Meanwhile, I continue adding and amending entries under my own steam - such as a slew of formal AI definitions from ISO/IEC 22989 amendment 1 added to the master this month.

When I started publishing books, a lot of people asked me for tips on how to do it.  My first tip was that, when you have finished writing the book, that's the *easy* part done.

Second tip was, when you find a good copy editor, you marry her.
