Right, I don't know about anyone else here but I'm really determined to make
this inventors / tinkers club idea work. I'm currently unemployed so I've been
putting a good chunk of my copious free time into this.

Okay time I give you all an incentive to meet me, we'll have a pot-luck picnic
sometime in the next few weeks. I recommend by the stream in the domain at
around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon (sorry Dave. I'll tell everyone how
awesome you are though).

Also I've got in contact with a person who has founded two such groups, one
which quickly got very well established in L.A and another in Maui.
Apparently the Maui one took quite a while because like here there aren't
any handy high-technology companies or tertiaries in walking distance
to recruit members from but they are now doing very well. They initially
started as a social group and have since acquired a shipping container as an
HQ.
