I had some technical difficulties, so I couldn't update the web site
for a while. Jeremy Sheets at CMS Internet fixed it up, so we're back
in business. (CMS Internet donates the web site space -- thanks
Jeremy)
So, I've posted the HAHS and Legion newsletters from March. I know
there are newer newsletters, and I'll be posting them shortly.
Please send me any information that you want posted for the upcoming
Memorial Day weekend. If you have a flyer for an event, send me a
Microsoft Word document, and I'll convert it to a Adobe PDF file and
post it on the web site. Otherwise, simply send me a short paragraph
in an e-mail message.
For those interested in history, I'll be giving a presentation about
Ephraim Shay on May 12th, 1:00 PM, at the Freight Station Museum in
Lake Odessa (1117 Emerson Street), hosted by the Ionia County
Genealogical Society. Ephraim Shay was a Civil War soldier under
Grant and Sherman in the Western Theatre. He lived in various places
in Ionia County before and after the Civil War, working in the lumber
industry. He later moved North, landing in Harbor Springs, where he
invented a narrow guage steam locomotive called the Shay train. You
can read more about him at:

All are welcome.
