RPG: "Defend yeself!" Grakram growled in Old Dwarvish to the last
remaining dwarven defender. "Ye ain't git me permission tae die!"
Grakram wanted answers and he needed someone alive to provide them
once the battle was won. With not a moment to waste, the wild dwarf
dove into the centre of the melee, seeking to make himself the target
of the enemy weapons, trusting to his armor and shield to keep him
safe under the onslaught. Heavy blows hit his shield as he shouldered
aside the wounded dwarf and took his place, but the bloodthirsty grin
on his lips never faltered; in his rage more than ever, Grakram was
beyond pain and fear.
And if this was the time and place he found his doom, he would be
satisfied to die defending his kin from their ancestral enemies.
Icy cold water splashed high as the savage dwarf sought for a sure
footing in the pond. The cloak of mist surrounding his body swirling
in tattered streamers as he hacked and slashed at anything that came
within the reach of his mighty axe. The orc closest to him
overextended itself in its eagerness to kill, leaving its weapon arm
open for an attack. Chanting dwarven battle-hymns, grinning like a
maniac, Grakram took the opportunity.
** If it hits...
Realizing its mistake, the orc tried to twist its blade to block the
heavy axe chop but the angle was all wrong. The blade merely deflected
the axe a few inches so a strike that might have cut off the arm
stopped at the bone, severing muscles and bathing the dwarf once more
in arterial blood.
** If it kills...
Realizing its mistake, the orc tried to twist its blade to block the
heavy axe chop but the angle was all wrong. The axe struck the blade
from the orc's hand and chopped off the arm at the elbow, bathing the
dwarf once more in arterial blood. Grakram shield-slammed the dying
orc in the face and turned to its comrade, delivering a backhand blow
intended to disembowel the shadowspawn.
** If it misses...
The orc's ugly face twisted in a parody of a grin as snatched its arm
away, revealing the feint for what it was. Unbalanced, Grakram turned
his forward lurch into a charge that slammed one armored, spiked,
shoulder into his opponent's midriff, blasting the breath from its
lungs but leaving him exposed for a counter attack.
TAG: Everyone interested...
NRPG: OK, first priority; agro management ;^) The last dwarf should
survive if at all possible. We can afford to take a few hits to try
and ensure that. AC is up because Grakram's fighting orcs and he
doesn't have the charge penalty to hider him anymore. Though he has to
put up with rage penalties...
First round: 5' step to AG-12 to get within reach of maximum number of
opponents. Full attack at... just which orc is which? (Orc 1-3 in
table, orcs 2,4 and 6 in picture). Anyway, attack the most wounded orc
within reach (Greta and Kruack are positioned well to hit the Oruk
thingey and Grakram knows they were following close behind so I'll
ignore it for the moment) to try and even the odds. Cleave at the
remaining orc if the first foe dies, AoOs if they move more than 5'.
Second round: pretty much the same. Moving to stay in range of foes as
needed, trying to finish off the weakest opponents to leave fewer
people to hit the NPC dwarf.
-Jussi / Grakram
Good catch, orcs 1, 2, and 3 in the turn are orcs 2, 4, and 6, respectively,
in the sketch.

Urokk preferred to fight alone. The initial feeling of elation at fighting for the Durgis clan over, Urokk was not sure what had got into him, the dworg settled into his usual fighting style. His bare feet moved with such precision and grace that they barely splashed in the water. He focused on the regular sized orc assuming it would be and easier kill that its colossal kin.
(Round 3 Two weapon attack, nothing fancy, don't forget his +2 bonus vs orcs)
Urokk used both his weapons effectively. The first he swung up towards the orc's groin, it wa a carefully placed strike, designed to force the orc to defend itself awkwardly. With the other urutuk he waited a split second, until the orc had committed itself, and then used all his force in an over head blow.
(HIT)
It was an obvious trick and the orc knew it, but it was powerless to protect itself from both blows at once. Its shield was low, protecting its nether regions, and its vandatch had just rebounded off the dworg's arm, a blow that should have by rights taken it clean off. Its helmet was all that remained between razor sharp mithral and bone.
(MISS)
It was an obvious trick and the orc knew it. It picked the groin shot as the decoy and protected it head with its shield.
(Round 4 Two weapon attack, I am assuming I killed orc2)
No sooner had Urokk landed his attack, he sprang to his right, with the assumption that, if he kept moving, he could out smart the dim witted oruk. No sooner had he landed, he launched himself back at it, his urutuks flashing in the light from Kurack's torch. This time he went low aiming to get inside the creature's long reaching arms. He hacked at its legs as though he was trying to fell a tree.
(HIT)
He drew blood but whether he hurt it he could not tell, such was the fierce focus on the creature's face.
(MISS)
…but dworg's strikes were in vain and he drew as much blood as he might from a tree.
Greta stared at the giant orc that stood before her.
It was huge, yet Greta felt no fear only a slight
twinge of anger that faded away. It was clear to her
that this was the target for her and Kruack. With a
growl Greta moved to attack the beast, her spear
lancing out to bite its flesh.
(Greta attacks the giant Orc that's right next to her,
Power Attack for 1.)
(Hit)
The spear struck home, rewarding Greta with a spray of
orc blood.
(Miss)
The thrust missed, the spear head glancing off of the
giant orc's armor.
(Round 2)
Greta circled the giant warily, waiting for the right
chance to strike. Like a pair of wolves, Kruack and
her moved and struck. Greta prepared to attack again.
(Greta attacks the same giant orc, Power Attack for 1)
(Hit)
Her spear found an unarmored spot and dug deep into
the beast's flesh.
(Miss)
Greta's strike was deflected by the orc's sturdy
armor.

The scene that was unfolding in front of Cita's eyes was as gruesome
as any she had seen. Dwarven bodies piling up in the dank water,
giant orcs which struck fear in the heart of one so small, and the
ever present darkness, concealing who knew what. Cita could hear the
sounds of fighting which she knew took place beyond the edges of her
vision. How could you fight something you couldn't see?
Almost without thinking Cita began to mumble to herself, her fingers
weaving intricate patterns. Releasing the spell with a gesture
towards the fighting, balls of light suddenly sprang from her
fingertips. Four balls of light flew, circling each other as they
went, until they were hovering over the heads of the fighters. The
points of light continued to buzz and swirl, casting a flickering pale
blue light over the entire cavern.
Now that Cita could see the extent of the battle her heart sank. The
dwarves and the dworg-thing were badly outnumbered and would need
help.
"I guess we should do something," she whispered to her companions.
[cast dancing lights]
A question for Cita's second round action. What armour, if any, are
the giant orcs wearing and what weapons are they using? Also Are they
considered humanoids or giants?
Nicki
Normal orcs wield vardatches and have scale armor. 'Big' orcs wield battle
axes and have scale mail (they are considered humanoid).

Hit =
The blade bit deep into the orc's unprotected back, and it's blood
flowed out in a thick torrent, staining the already saturated water a
darker shade of red.
Miss =
Some preternatural sense warned the orc of Ganwin's approach, and just
before the blade which was aimed to take it's life struck, it turned
desperately to the side far enough to avoid the blow.
(If Urokk dropped the orc: Round 1, move to a flanking position with
Urokk behind the big orcy, but a step back so as not to provoke an AOO )
As Ganwin moved up to slay the orc that faced Urokk the dworg brought
one of his urutuks down upon the creature's head with a screech of metal
and crunch of bone, causing it's body to fall lifeless into the blood water.
Without missing a step, the rogue swerved to the right and dodged
expertly behind the larger orc, careful to stay outside of it's longer
reach, his eyes on Urokk again, waiting for the dworg to give him an
opening against the oversized monster.
(If Ganwin killed the orc in round 1... Move behind the oruk to flank,
Sneak Attack)
Blood dripping from his blade, Ganwin sprang to the side only an instant
after Urokk, using the opening the dworg created to get in behind the
giant orc and slash at the back of it's legs.
Hit =
The oruk snarled in pain as the rogue's scythe sliced through it's armor
and flesh, but the big creature did not fall or falter.
Miss = More agile that it appeared, the oruk twisted it's knee to the
side, putting the thick plates of it's scale mail directly in the path
of Ganwin's scythe. The blade skipped off of the creature's armor with a
few sparks, but it was doubtful the monster even noticed.
(If Ganwin moved behind the oruk in round 1: After Urokk closes with it,
5-foot step into flanking and Sneak Attack)
Ganwin saw his opening as Urokk's urutuks flashed in Cita's magical
light and lunged forwards, aiming for what would be a critical wound on
an orc.
Hit =
The larger creature seemed to have all of it's organs in the right
places and it screamed as the rogue's blade was buried in it's flesh,
it's blood pouring down it's back and into the dark water.
Miss =
Unfortunately the oruk's movements in it's battle with Urokk made
finding a hole in it's armor more difficult and Ganwin's blade skipped
off of it's back plate.
(Whew. So many contingencies there)
L8r,
Fabian
KRuack, New
As the cavern started to light up the massive giant orc came into view,
Taking a quick looks towards greta then back to the giant orc he tighten his
grip on his sword and went forth to attck the thing..

A few simple gestures accompanied by a couple of arcane words were
enough to inflict the cantrip on the overgrown creature. As she ended
the spell she crossed her fingers in hope that the dumb brute would be
vulnerable to the effect.
[Cast daze]
(HIT)
Cita peered through the dark. It had worked. The over sized orc stood
as if sleep walking completely unaware of its enemy.
(MISS)
Cita cursed as the creature resisted her magic. Had she cast the
spell correctly? Was it too great a chance to try again?
I've just been real busy these past few days but I haven't given up on the
game.
Sorry for the delay.
