All our Houston relatives and friends are fine. My
sister who lives in Seabrook didn't even lose power
(not that they were home...). Our house in Bellaire
didn't flood, either. We are all very grateful.

Dave and I are fine!!  We evacuated to my parents in Kilgore before the other 2 million people.
When we returned we found that we had received about 10 drops of rain while we were gone.
Thank God we were spared what was predicted to be a horrible storm.

Hi all,

I evacuated to my Bellville home, where we got nothing from Rita.  However, my beach house where I live most of the time is on Bolivar across from Galveston.  I had no structural damage only the shingles and some lattice work was destroyed.  Maybe I will get a new roof out of this.  Otherwise everything is fine.

My daughter's in-laws also came to the Bellville house.  We had 18 people there for four days.  Everyone was okay and their homes in Alvin were fine.
