Melissa,
I wanted to ask if your church is doing anything for the hurricane victims. If so how can we help?
I also wanted to know if you have dates yet for the next trip. I need to request time to head over from El Salvador. It will be my wife and I, possibly my daughter, but we may just leave her at the school.
Let me know,
Thanks,
Darren Lyman
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Not yet. God willing, we will be around January. When we get there we will update everybody on our contact info.

Luis,
We are going to be working at a Christian school. The mission is called HIS (Harvesting In Spanish) http://www.harvesting.org/ for the first 6 months I will be working construction on a new apartment complex they are putting up for missionary teams & building a clinic. Also at the same time we will be taking Spanish courses from an on campus tutor to learn the local dialect. My wife will be working with children from newborn age to 4 years, and also teaching hygiene classes. Before we leave for El Salvador, we are both getting an MA certificate. Also taking Spanish, and I am working on a bus driver’s license - (66 Passenger). After completion of the complex I will be teaching computer courses to teens at the school. That is the plan for now, but flexibility is key. It may change tomorrow, who knows – we have to play it by ear.
We can always use contacts down there. It’s always nice to go some place new knowing somebody, or at least having a contact.
Thank you for the offer, we may take you up on that a time or two. Where is your house located? Our housing is on campus, and as stated earlier we will be building new apartments for the short-term missionaries. We will be there two years minimum, and then head back. But we may return down there to live for good. It just depends on where the Lord leads us.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and friendship.
God Bless and Keep in touch!
Your Servant in Christ

Me as well. We have a guest room if any Houstonite needs it.
Good to hear from y'all... I'll be at work from Friday afternoon until ...maybe Sunday or Monday. We are told to bring sleeping bags, clean clothes and a Margarita machine ( yeah, right) and to be prepared to stay a while.. My son will stay home with Frank, he is outside boarding the windows and they'll stay at the house. My cute little grandson ( who is now 4 months) is leaving on Saturday for Yugoslavia with his parents and will come here on the way back on Oct 6th, hopefully things will be OK by then. Our small hospital is already full of people from Galveston who did not make it to San Antonio, and I really have no idea how we'll manage..I have to go to Christ Clinic to refill medicine for some patients and have to cancell my volunteering shift at one of the Katrina shelters tomorrow...Life is full of challanges but you all know that us Mission Folks are very, very
FLEXIBLE.... thanks Momma Melissa for teaching us that..... Love you all... Sneezy
