Salvete Amici (ae),

I wanted  all of you to know that I teach Latin and Ancient  Greek to home schoolers in the Nashville area.  Children can start learning Latin as young as seven if they are able to read English.    I use a variety of introductory Latin materials depending on preferences and needs of my students.  I will also work with materials that parents may have already purchased.  I  make my students aware of  the  helpful materials  on the internet. Weekly, hour long sessions usually work well.    I do include some oral Latin because my students enjoy saying things to each other.  It also provides another way to reinforce the material.  I routinely administer the National Latin Exam to my students.  My rate twenty five dollars for individual tutoring sessions and thirty dollars a for a group of three( ten dollars per person).   My current duties also include tutoring two students who attend area public schools.  I taught all levels of Latin  for over twenty years in public, private and parochial schools.  My credentials include a B.A. in Classics from Trinity College; a Master's Degree in  Latin from the University of Georgia and extensive travel in Greece and Italy and current Tennessee teaching certification.  I  charge twenty five dollars for individual tutoring sessions and thirty dollars a for a group of three( ten dollars per person).  Please call me at (615) 477-2893 or e-mail me at gdema...@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Grace de Majewski

Hi Grace,

Thanks for intoducing yourself.  I would really like to set up a couple of classes with you.  My 9 year old daughter is currently taking Latin and really enjoys it.  I would like for my other 2 children to take it as well.  I think my son was a little jealous after Lainie, his sister, started Latin earlier this year because he had not realized how much Greek mythology would be taught.  He was very interested in Greek mythology after reading the Percy Jackson books.  Latin conflicted with beginning orchestra though.  So, I would have 2 beginners and 1 who would be more advanced.   I think Thursdays in the fall might be best and I am hoping to set up classes in blocks of 10- I am thinking 3 sessions of 10 weeks each.  Might that work for you?

Thanks!
Mandi

Currently,

I'm teaching at a Christian  home school coop on Tuesdays and Thursdays  between 9:00-2:30.  I would be free on Thursdays at 3:00.  I am free on Mondays after 1:45; on Wednesdays until 2:00 and all day on Fridays.

Well, that's good to know.  Maybe we could do a different day.  I don't know if anyone is planning to join us or if it will just be my three.  I do want to schedule all of the classes back-to-back at one location.  Let me work on finding a couple more teachers for Art, Spanish, etc. and see if they have specific days that they are available.  For now, I'll try to schedule Wed or Fri, unless someone else weighs in with a requested day.
Thanks!
Mandi
