Ok folks I said that I would post things that were controversial,   Humboldt county is the hillbilly cousin, the state doesn't like to admit lives in a trailer in the back yard.   Our county receives lower funds for things like medical care, mental health, and education. The schools that exist are struggling, falling apart under the children's feet.   Our once proud ( tho misguided I'll give ya that) logging industry the main economy for years, has been so overshadowed by the pot industry, made worse by the legalization, that logging is now a shameful planet killing waste of resources. And growing pot is a legal way to make a few bucks, well ok not just a few but quite a lot actually. Instead of the strong foundation of our counties economy that it should be. Logging builds homes, businesses, supports the future of our forests by helping to maintain unlogged areas as well as sustainable logging areas where harvests can take place without destroying habitat.   Logging practices can be changed to have minimal impact on environment, if the logging companies can get their collective heads out of their fannies, long enough to see into the future and do what is right, not just what makes the MOST profit.   But we have to support law enforcement, our logging industry and any other industry that comes our way, to help bring Humboldt county out of the dark ages and into the modern world.     Otherwise, the great migration will continue, and our children and their children will continue to LEAVE Humboldt county for a better life.   L
