The Searcy last name may have come from me. I don't know of anyone else who has concluded that Searcy has a good chance of being Richard's wife's last name, in fact, I've never seen speculation on any other surname. I could be wrong, but the clincher for me was seeing Lemuel Searcy listed at Richard Holt's estate sale in early 1823. I see no reason for Lemuel to be there unless he knew them well or was related or both. He did not live in southeastern Chatham County or southwestern Wake County, so his presence at such a small, run-of-the-mill estate sale is hard to explain unless he was related.
As far as her first name goes, I don't know it, but perhaps I've missed a record somewhere that shows her first name. Learning the first name for a woman/wife who lived in those days is usually a lot easier than determining the last name. If you can figure out where you've seen it, please let me know.
