Hi All,
As we eagerly anticipate our very first agility trial this weekend,
I've already jumped ahead to September and entered Dexter in all 3
days of the ASCA trial at Argus - Sept 24-26. This trial just opened
Aug 1 and I had a reminder on my calendar to enter early. Check!
Anyone else planning on attending? Should be fun - it's a very nice
location and indoor trial

I also see that there is another ASCA trial at Yamhill Aug 27-29 -
anyone attending that one?

Hope everyone is enjoying a northwest summer!

Our next event, Myka's second, is USDAA in Brownsville Aug 14-15. Outdoors,
two rings and a nice river to cool off in.
Have fun at Argus.

Hi All,
BEN (from the 06 litter) will be at both the Yamhill and Argus trials.  He needs only one more 5 point Regular Q to have his ATCH!  I'm hoping we can do it at Yamhill.

We've also sent our entries for the Nationals in Waco... Should be lots of fun.

I wish you two well at ASCA Nationals.  You’re a great team!

How is Lucy doing?

Hi Kathy,

Wow!!  ATCH and ASCA nationals for Ben and you!   That's so awesome!

I agree with Carol you are an amazing team!

Whether you get your ATCH at Yamhill or not, we will be cheering you guys on at Argus!

Are you trialing Lucy too?

Hi,
Some of you asked about Lucy... she had cataract surgery on June 16th.  The first 3 weeks of post op care was pretty hectic, with lots of hands on and meds up to 7 times a day.  We made it thru that process, but we don't know yet if the outcome will be successful.  Dogs have a high incidence of after surgery complications including inflamation that can cause retina detachment and scar tissue, which both can cause vision loss.  We won't know for another 6 weeks if she has made it successfully.  In the meantime, she cannot have stress or exercise, including any agility activiity.  Her vision is good right now and I'm hoping to try agility with her again toward the end of September.  Even though the odds aren't perfect after the surgery, the other option of no surgery would have almost certainly left her blind in about 6 months.  So, I thought we'd take the chance with the best odds.

Hope to see you at trials this fall,

Kathy,

This is the first I have heard about Lucy.  I hope all is well with the surgery and please keep us posted.
