I have a hard time agreeing with this. As far as I know the history and photos tell me that the Aussie had a lot more to do with settling the west than the BC did. The Aussies came from the West, with the sheep, and were developed into what we have today primarily on this side of the country. The BC's would have come from the East and would have taken a lot longer to get out here. I am not denying that they are a valuable part of the ranching work that happens in this state, but I think they came far after the Aussies.
