RSS regional head Rajeshwar Singh said more than 200 Muslims were "brought back to Hinduism" in the mass event held in Madhunagar area of the city.
According to organizers, the converts will soon be given new names.
Talking to TOI, Singh claimed that around 5,000 more Muslims and Christians will be "brought back into Hindu fold" in Aligarh on this Christmas. "The grand event will be held at Maheshwari College in Aligarh," he said, daring anyone to stop it.
With saffron flags hoisted on rooftops of makeshift houses in this slum cluster, and matras being recited by priests, members of as many as 57 Muslim families washed feet of Hindu idols to mark their return to the religion. Long vermillion marks were put on their foreheads and they were given Prasad to eat.
Later, RSS and Bajrang Dal activists gave them a 'mantra' to chant the whole day and prepared a list of all the 'converts', to get their voter IDs and Aadhaar cards made, with their new names.
Sharifa, 40, was seen debating the right way of performing an aarti with her daughter-in-law, Afsha, in a small temple that has been erected by RSS men in the slum in Madhunagar. An idol of goddess Kali has also been placed in the temple, as majority of people living in the area hail from West Bengal.
Sufia Begum,76, who is the oldest woman among the converts, told TOI: "I read Quran and offered namaz five times a day. Now at this age, I will read Ganesh aarti. I don't find any major difference in the teachings of the two religions."
"The RSS people assured us that they will provide us better place to live, better food and schooling for my grandsons. I don't mind change of religion, as religion doesn't give us food to eat."
Rajeshwar Singh told TOI that RSS spends Rs 50 lakh every month on conversion of an average 1,000 families. "It spends Rs 8-10 lakh per month on fuel costs alone in west UP," he added.
"We have re-converted 2.73 lakh Muslims and Christians in Braj region that includes Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Mathura, Firozabad, Etah, Meerut, Mainpuri and Uttarakhand since 2003. The upcoming mass re-conversion event in which some 5,000 Muslims and Christians will be brought back into Hindu fold will be headed by Yogi Adityanath on December 25 in Aligarh," Singh said.
Singh also claimed that RSS has taken possession of as many as 60 churches across the state, where no Christians worship now, "as they have all been re-converted to Hinduism".
"Ek din in girijagharo ki deewarein bhi gir jayengi aur hamara desh sirf hinduon ka hoga (one day these churches will crumble and our country will belong to the Hindus alone)," he added.
Ajju Chauhan, the Bajrang Dal leader who zeroed in on the slum in Madhunagar and organized the mass re-conversion event, was overwhelmed after the puja. More than three dozen RSS and Bajrang Dal members were guarding the pandal to avoid any untoward incident.
Talking to TOI, Aslam Qureishi, prominent Sunni leader of the city, said, "This is just a tactic of the RSS to misguide Muslims."

salam,You hail from India and can say with confidence what is the state of
affairs of Muslims there but the situation is not much different in
Pakistan or perhaps Bangladesh as well.This is why I always say
that these are the religious leaders, our so called 'ulemaa'
'shuyukh''pirs' and 'soofis' of all denominations in all sections and at
all levels of social structure who are more responsible and should be
blamed for all the decadence and plight of UMMAH as such-- to a
greater degree than these 'secular leftists and liberals etc etc and
they need to be taken to task and corrected first before we take care of those
who are not religious,notwithstanding that whatever the religious
tradition we have it is due to some of them who have always been around
because Allah Taala has it willed it so .Some friends consider my opinion
impolite as if I have gone astray.

This sad and unfortunate. But whom should we blame for this.
There are Muslims in BJP
There are Muslims who voted for BJP and Shiv Sena who are sworn enemies of Muslims.
Shahnawaz Hussain is son in law of Murli Manhoar Joshi who was President of BJP and is a senior leader and Ex minister of HRD in Bajpayee Govt.
Mukhtar Abbas is son in law of Ashok Singhal, President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad ( World Hindu League ) who was mainly involved in destruction of Babri Masjid.
Tableeghi Jamat has never dared to do anything other than confining Muslims to masajid and gasht and azkar. They have never sent volunteers in the event of riots or other natural disasters and are concerned for their madrasas for which they collect millions in India and abroad.
A Govt. spy appointed to keep a vigil on Tableeghi markaz in Nizamuddin Delhi, gave a report that these people are harmless since they only speak about Skies ( heaven ) and underground ( Qabar ) They have nothing to do with the ground I mean this world.
Moulana Ilyas RA started Tableegh to save hundreds of thousand of Muslims who were on the verge of converting to Hinduism in Mewat area. Nothing has been done after him in right direction.
Muslims Ulema and leaders have not only neglected poor Muslims in terms of educating them about Islam and other worldly education, but have also neglected their economic conditions and have never tried to alleviate poverty.
Many Muslims have been practicing shirk which resembles Hindu Pooja and then how can you convince uneducated masses about benefit of Islam and difference between Tauhee and Shirk.
There is no sense of unity in Umma and concern for the community and each one is standing alone for his own vested interest. This has to result in what is happening.
Coming to Dalits community of Hindus. This community was supposed to be Muslims and went for Budhism since they were told there are 72 sects in Islam and which one you will join. We are so much divided and fractures and no one has ever worked on uniting. We are still fighting on Hilal sighting and rafa yadain.
Gujrat riots were of course triggered by Saffron Brigade, but whom did they deployed in front to do the dirty job? It was not RSS workers. RSS workers worked in the background.
To the admission of one of our a great scholar ( I do not recollect his name but have heard him on video ) the poor Hindus of the lowest class were jealous of the Madrasas and the life style of Muslims students and clergy riding imported cars and having a lavish life style who never thought of the neighboring poor Hindus who were deprived of basic human necessities of food and shelter. This very fact enraged hence the best fodder for RSS inciting and exploiting them and their leaders that ultimately resulted in the worst riots in the post independent history of India. This community could have been won over. Gujrat has the richest Muslims in India. They are all business people spread all over the world and could have well taken care of these lower strata of Hindu society by feeding them with abundant resources that Allah has blessed them with.
We fund Madrasas but never look after poor of other communities. Where are we in terms of Islamic teachings. Save and execpt Zakat, there is no restrictions on charities being used for human beings.
What has happened in Agra is the tip of the iceberg. More has to come. There are over 500 thousand Muslims in Rajasthan who are just a push away from their original religion. Their wives are Hindu. They are Muslims for name sake only in as much as they eat beef, they do Khatna, and they bury their dead bodies. They do not know how to pray janaza hence they flag the new graves and if some Muslim passes from their villages they ask him to pray janaza and remove flag from the graves.
This is all pathetic.
UNLESS WE UNDERSTAND ISLAM, EDUCATE OUR FOLKS AND PRACTICE ISLAM, AND FORGE UNITY, WE WILL FACE THIS ISSUE.
The conversion reported in Agra is for economic reason. These are poor uneducated people who have done it for material gains without proper knowledge and understanding of Islam and may be Allah may forgive them for their ignorance and their plight. But Allah will not forgive those whose negligence and inaction has caused this.
I will be more than happy if this opens the eyes of our folks. If not then this will not stop since the other side is sincere in their efforts and enjoy full backing of Federal and Provincial Governments,
Allah Rehm. He alone can save us form this humility Aaamen.
