Subject: Fall Camporee Registration Info
To: Ray Crouch <
raycr...@gmail.com>
Hello Highland Rim Scouters,
We hope you are making plans to attend the Fall Camporee on September 6th - 8th. It will be held at Don Miller's property in Tennessee City. You will take Highway 70 W to Tennessee City. Turn left on Mc Elhiney Road. Follow that road for quite a while. The paved road will eventually turn into a dirt road and the campsite will be a little further up on the left. We will have the entrance well marked so you won't miss it. Registration fees for this event are $7 per Scout and $3 per adult. Everyone will receive a really nice custom patch for the event. Extra patches can be purchased for $3 each. To register for the event please email me back with your troop number and how many Scouts and Scouters will be attending. Registration information must be received by the evening of Tuesday, September 3rd. Any registrations received after Tuesday will be at the rate of $8 per Scout and $4 per Scouter. So, please let me know by Tuesday how many will be coming from your Troop and save a dollar. Registration fees can be paid Friday night when you arrive at the Camporee. The principles of Leave No Trace will be in effect for the weekend. So, each Troop will need to bring all of their water for the weekend. Each Troop will also need to dig a latrine for their use. You can bring firewood with you or you can use any downed wood at the site. Ground fires will be allowed. Please prepare the site properly. There will be a cracker barrel Friday night where all final details will be provided about Saturday's program. Please bring a snack from your Troop to contribute to the cracker barrel. I have attached the program flyer that was sent out previously for those that did not receive it. If you have any questions about the program please let me know. One point of clarification about the catapult contest is that the catapults can be built with any materials that you would like except for motorized or electronic components. It must be handmade but any materials can be used, so bring your tools. This should be a great event and hopefully the boys will have a great time working together to complete these challenges. Again, if you have any questions let me know. Thanks!
