The 1st of her Hestian Trilogy.   For discussing her quite artful way of reconstructing the original meanings of the early Greek Hestian world by deconstructing the Roman historian Fustel's revisionist rewriting of Greek culture.   She unravels the way Fustel describes the original family centered culture as from an authoritarian commercial story line, reading into the obvious inconsistencies the original story... nice!

Pat offers a very nice introduction & prologue (A Day in the life of a Hestian Feminist) for Accidental Theorist, that I scanned and link here for reference.

What most shocked me was not just the deep truth of her her reconstructed image of the home centered culture of early Greece, comparing ancient traditions with the distortions of word meanings one can see in the revisionist authoritarian texts of Roman historians...   it was how that makes her work a deeply more scientific kind of sociology than I've ever seen before.
