I recieved an email from one of you with a very valid question but I
"assumed" you would have realized this....

Any post is a post.
We are asking for a substantial post...
Hi - how-areya... is not substantial but it's a post. Everyone would be
aware of students doing only that and it would get old quick.
If your at your minimums who cares if you post simple things...
If you can't come up with mind blowing answers to questions, then post
simple thoughts.
If you can't come up with mind blowing questions then post simple ones.
There is no stupid questions...There is no contest on who sounds smarter...
If you don't want to post because you think that you could be wrong -
that is very wrong!! Post it anyway!!!

Any post that is in reply to someone elses initiation of a section is a
full and valid post.
You do not have to start a thread (the name for the starting question in
a new section) to get credit. Only post.

"Thread drift" is when the initial topic is strayed from the original
thought and we will try to bring it back to topic or get you to start a
new post.
Asking a "new" question in a different subject area is initiating thread
drift and is frowned on because of the confusion it causes. (Other
students don't know where to look for things posted in the past)
Asking the same question over again will happen but it will take at
least 6 months to a year for that to happen with new students. Thats not
a problem.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I put together a tracking
tool to help insure I meet the weekly requirements and to keep me
motivated towards the 'big picture.'

I've attached a form that I created in Excel to track the first semester
coursework. The shaded out portions are not requirements of the
individual course, and the final quiz is bold-boxed and shaded in
orange. I printed out one color Master Copy for me to track my entire
semester efforts, and one in black and white that I can copy on a copier
for my weekly tracking.

I simply make check marks for each forum posting and Amma treatment
write-up, and write in which quizzes I took. I then transfer the quiz
date and grade onto the Master Copy to track my semester work. The only
thing that isn't on it is the Li sheet tracking.

Feel free to use it if it helps, and/or if you have suggestions on
improving it, by all means please do!

I three-hole punch all the copies and keep it in my School Binder where
I keep all of the printouts of the course requirements and other
pertinent school information.

Thanks!
