All:

It Seems my computer is struggling to process a county wide Level I
flood analysis.
Its a decent computer running on XP with 3GB RAM and 3GHz dual
processor. I had it running for more than 18 hours and it has not yet
completed the Reverine Hydraulics for all events (2,10,...500Yr). I am
not sure if its still running. Windows Task Manager indicates its
running, but no messages in ArcGIS window.

Please share your experience in terms of processing time taken for a
county wide level I analysis including the damage analysis. I have
about 75 streams in the study area. Also, share any tips to help
speedup the processing times.

Note: working with 1 square mile watersheds.

Thanks All

Working at one square mile, over an entire county, with events from
10-500yrs, at analysis level 1, could take you (depending on the size of
the county) at least 24 to 36 hours or longer in my experience.

Try 10 to 50 square miles the first time and limit your geographic area
to maybe half the reaches, or fewer, then, run the same area again at 1
square mile. It should process faster.

Does this sound right to the rest of you out there?
