This tournament is rated (USCF membership is required) and is open to chess players of all ages. It will be held at Kirkwood Community College’s Iowa City Campus (1816 Lower Muscatine Road) in rooms 263, 262 & 255. Players rated 1500+ will play in a separate, quiet room. Participants may play up a section only if they are within 100 points of the rating floor of the next-highest section. (For example, players rated 600-699 may play in the U1100 section.)

 

U700

4 rounds at Game in 30 minutes + 5 second delay

Round 1 at 10am, rd 2 at 11, lunch break, rds 3 & 4 ASAP

Prizes: trophies to 1^st-3^rd overall & top U500

Entry fee: $15 (pay onsite)

 

U1100

4 rounds at Game in 30 minutes + 5 second delay

Round 1 at 10am, rd 2 at 11, lunch break, rds 3 & 4 ASAP

Prizes: trophies to 1^st-3^rd overall & top U900

Entry fee: $15 (pay onsite)

 

U1500

4 rounds at Game in 55 minutes + 5 second delay

Round 1 at 10:15am, rd 2 at 12:30, rds 3 & 4 ASAP

Prizes: 1^st-$80, 2^nd-$60, 3^rd-$40, best U1300-$40 (based on 12 entries)

Entry fee: $20 (pay onsite)

 

1500+

3 rounds at Game in 70 minutes + 5 second delay

Rd 1 at 10:15am, rd 2 at 1pm, rd 3 ASAP

Prizes: 1^st-$125, 2^nd-$100, 3^rd-$75, best U1700-$50 (UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED)

Entry fee: $20 (pay onsite)
