FIRST AND FOREMOST,
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE. YAYYYYYY!!!!!! Or should I say, WELCOME TO WINTER QUARTER EVERYONE YAYYYYY!!!!, because ya know, online classes lol.
But in light of the situation, on behalf of Na ‘Opio O Ka ‘Aina, we hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Winter break, full of festivities and relaxation :) Now we also know that for the past year things have been, odd, to say the least and we sincerely hope that everyone's academic and personal lives have not drastically changed as a result. So as we enter this Winter Quarter we would like to make some accommodations regarding the most recent announcements. ;)
The Plan:
Currently, because classes are going to be held online for the first 2 weeks of Winter Quarter, the club will be holding weekly general meetings online for the first 3 weeks of Winter Quarter. We hope that in this setting we can allow for our overseas members to feel less pressured about coming to campus as well as allow all members to participate in the club activities in a safe/personal environment.
Week 1 General Meeting:
So with that being said, for this week's general meeting we will be holding a Virtual Cultural Workshop.
When: This Wednesday January 5th, from 4-5pm
Where: Online- Zoom Link: https://uci.zoom.us/j/99111079539
As the Quarter continues and more information becomes available to us, we will be sure to update everyone on the rest of the Quarter’s General Meetings. In the meantime the Tentative Quarter’s Timeline is as follows.
Timeline for Winter Quarter - assuming we are returning in person lol:
Week 1: (Online) Cultural Workshop
Week 2: (Online) Cultural Workshop
Week 3: (Online) Game Night/Movie Night
Week 4: Choreo and workshop
Week 5: Mentor/Mentee Announcements
Week 6: Choreo
Week 7: Valentine’s day social
Week 8: Choreo
Week 9: Choreo
Week 10: No meeting for finals/study session
We hope everyone is understanding of the current situations and will be able to cooperate with the organization in facing these additional hurdles. :) It is greatly and deeply appreciated.
Till Next Week, Drink plenty of water and um ... Tea, yeah drink some tea.
