3.    Demonstrated practical experience in the specific subject of the project: e.g. experience in ï؟½Syllabification and Syllabic Phonologyï؟½

3.    Transform Arabic grammar rules into modern linguistic and phonological constructs, e.g. morphotactics
4.    Set up gold standard for evaluating a system. For example, for a morphological analyzer: words and their morphological decompositions. For a POS tagger or word class analyzer: a tagged corpus and also a dictionary of words with each word having multiple tags
5.    Evaluate existing methods and systems against the gold standard,
-          What is missing
-          Determine their limitations
-          Find out how robust they are
-          Reasons for the shortcoming
-          How to fix them
6.  NOT to program computational constructs such as finite state machines or context free grammar parsers
7. NOT to do experimental work (whether physical or on the computer) or machine learning

General notes for projects
1.    May be up to 12 months long
2.    Literature review and evaluation of existing systems must be completed within first three months
3.    Must be broken into phases and tasks within each phase (provide a plan)
4.    Deliverables must be made every month (milestones)
5.    Payment only made once deliverable has been reviewed

Need contextual disambiguation rules.

Title:Arabic Morphology
Topics you must be aware about
Sub-lexica
Morphotactics
Rewrite rules (correction of spelling when combining morphs)
