Video history of VistA

Came across this today.  I'm pretty sure this Youtube video channel is being created using an AI.  There's way too many videos being released on the channel.  That being said, the video provides a decent bird's eye view of how VistA came to be, in less than 5 minutes, with it's key point being that VistA works because it was created in-house by clinicians and programmers for their own use.

Errata:

In the 1980's and '90's the VA was not trying to kill VistA.  It wasn't until 1998 or so, when InterSystems had bought out all the other MUMPS vendors, that it was time for a change.

And I didn't write FileMan in a 'basement'.  I had a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Interesting trivia: Greystone was once a VA vendor. When I joined in 1995, I found that the VA in San Francisco had a small license for GT.M on VAX/VMS, presumably for testing compatibility. Wally Fort was the technical contact. But they didn't renew the support agreement.
