to Handicapping Harness
From: Joseph J Tuttle Author of "Win Every Race"/Harness the
Winning", and many others.
+12.00....NOT SO FAST! A complete race-by race "diary" of my night.
And, I'm not a liar.
I typically wager 40w/20pl, and 10/10 on my "rank
outsiders" (especially @ Northfield), and below is a complete analysis
of my night.
1ST.... 80.00 INVESTED....WINNER # 5 PAID 5.00/2.80 -20.00= +28.00
2ND 80.00 INVESTED....RACE WINNER #5 PAID 3.00/2.20-20.00= +30.00
3RD 80.00 INVESTED....."Top pick" was 2nd 3.60 to place-40/20= +6.00
4TH 80.00 INVESTED.....(In this race, and as I prescribe in ALMOST
ALL of my horse betting books)....the following.....
If the horse you like is 6-1 or better; it's a highly prudent move to
"reverse" your WIN/PLACE amounts. #4 MYSTICAL WORKER- Was my "top
pick" in said race (AND I HATED THE 1-2 FAV #3); so I wagered 20w/
40pl, and the horse paid 16.80 tp place.....AND ABSOLUTELY RACED HIS
BRAINS OUT! I marked him down (in my notes), as a "BET BACK, NEXT
WEEK".
16.80X20= 336.00-20 FOR THW WIN BET, AND 20.00 FOR THE "OUTSIDER"
LOSING; NOW PUTS ME AT +302.00 going into the 5th. But, my night gets
even better; you'll read/see! So far, 4 races (2wins/2places)
5TH 80.00 INVESTED...... #2 was a "Top pick" WINNER. PAID: 7.00 &
4.40-20.00= +386.00
6TH WAS A PICK-3 CONFIGURATION THAT ONLY HIT "TWO OUT OF THREE=(LOSER)
-60.00 = +326.00
9TH ANOTHER PICK-3 CONFIG THAT ALSO LOST. -48.00= +278.00.....Now,
here's basically where my night got VERY INTERESTING! Going into the
11th, I was alive and well for the 8-11 pick-4 and the 9-11 pick-3.
I was "alive" for a grand total of: 1722.00 id #1 had won, and 1151.00
id #3 would have won! With that being said; it would geatly behoove
me to make "strategic win wagers" on ALL of the remaining
horses.
(Below is an excerpt from "The Tuttle Way", and I've also used this
analogy in a few of my other books)
"......Now let’s say, in the fourth and final part of that pick-4,
it’s only a six horse field.
You would be a fool not to have substantial WIN WAGERS on the
remaining five horses. And, just in case your horse finishes off the
board, maybe even bet a five-horse Trifecta box (which on a $1.00
scale is a $60 bet). I think I’ve given two very easily understandable
examples above. Plus, I plan to go more in-depth on the concept of
“hedging-out....."
Long stort short......there was a scratch in the 11th which made the
field size (7 horses, and I was already "alive" for a mini-score);
with (2) of them. So, I stepped out a tad, and wagered 50.00 on the
remaining (5) horses. The winner was #7, and he paid a very handsome
63.00x25= 1325.00 MORE IN THE PROFIT COLUMN, and I lost the late
double (which I "DOUBLED-UP" on -80.00), and wound up making a grand
total of 1571.00 +808 (from Friday night)= 2379.00 in just TWO
DAYS!!!!!!! MY "SPEED RATINGS" WORK, AND HAVE FOR MANY YEARS!!!!
