Elmhurst Community Holiday Craft and Health Faire
Supporting Community Through Self-Innovation

Oakland, CA – (November 17, 2011) – Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm
Project announces the 1st Annual Elmhurst Community Holiday Craft and
Health Faire, December 17, 2011; 12:00pm-4:00pm at Tassafaronga
Recreation Center, 975 85th Ave. Oakland, CA 94621.

We invite local community members to join this community building
affair. Vendor and exhibitor space is available to showcase your
crafts for your neighbors. Come out and enjoy the shining lights of
creativity and innovation of the people of Elmhurst Community. You’ll
find art, baked goods, clothing, homemade goods and more to purchase
for holiday cheer!

This community event is sure to lift your spirits, recycle your
community dollars in your community, answer health questions, and get
you into the giving and sharing spirit of the holidays. Among other
special guests, DJ Odiaka will rock the building while the Bay Area
Black Nurses Association will be on-hand to talk with you about your
health.

This event is free to the public. If you are interested in showcasing

2011.

All proceeds from the sale of booths will go to completing the build-
out of Tassafaronga Community Garden and Youth Urban Farm located at
83rd Avenue and E Street Oakland, CA 94621

About Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project

The mission of Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project (an Oakland
based non-profit) is to combat the growing disadvantage of young
people of color not completing high school and attending a post
secondary school by empowering them to achieve their goals.

In giving our youth tools for the future, we utilize urban farming,
education and vocational training as the catalyst of community change
and elevation of the standard of living in the inner city. The further
reward is educational trust funds for each participant.
