Sharon and Karolyn will be hosting women’s ultimate frisbee workshops/pick up twice a month focused on developing skills and increasing knowledge necessary to elevate your game. These sessions are open to all female-matching (those who tend to mark up against female identifying players), no experience necessary.
The first workshop will be at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, October 13th, location TBD (somewhere in Irvine).

A few of us have noticed that mixed ultimate games in Orange County consistently have an unproportionally higher number of men than women who participate, which results in mixed games that are not truly mixed. Rather than the typical 4:3 or 3:4 male-matching:female-matching ratios for mixed ultimate, we end up with 5:2 or even 6:1.
We feel that there may be a couple big contributing factors to this imbalance:
- There are just fewer female-matching players in OC
- There are many female-matching players who do not enjoy playing in a male-dominated environment
The goal of these workshops and pickups is to help push gender equity and equality in the OC ultimate scene. The hope is that these workshops create an environment in which women can improve skills, gain confidence, and have fun! Workshops will be structured with players of all levels in mind. If there are specific skills you would like to improve on, let us know!

Premier Social Sports also organizes recreational ultimate leagues in Huntington Beach (HB Sports Complex) on Saturday mornings and Irvine (Great Park) on Monday nights.
