As you may know, AHAR data collection this year will be web-based
rather than Excel spreadsheet based. (Halleluyah!)

As part of this move, we (mostly Eric) also created an AHAR XML schema
and an import process. This schema encompasses all the questions that
are in the AHAR. If software vendors implement the schema, then users
can download the XML file, and then simply upload the data, rather
than manually typing in each field.

See http://sandbox.hmis.info

There you will find the Schema, an instance file, and a copy of the
former table shells, with each variable filled in, to help with the
mapping process.

You can create a dummy sandbox account, and test validate and upload
the files.
You can also see the manual data entry screens as they stand now, but
they are still in progress.

Just in case there is confusion: This schema is entirely different
than HMIS XML. HMIS XML is for client level data. AHAR XML is
specifically for uploading the aggregate data required for the
AHAR.
