Only North Carolina and Virginia prohibit all their public employees from bargaining with their employers. Freedom for state and local governments:  Right now state and local government agencies are banned from sitting down and negotiating a contract with their own employees, even if they want to. Local solutions:  Collective bargaining would allow state and local government agencies to deal with problems specific to their employees. Ending Jim Crow injustice:  Public employees have been stuck in 1959 with no legal right to negotiate any improvement in their working conditions, and virtually no recourse in the event of a grievance or disciplinary action. Collective bargaining would give public employees a way to work for fairness and respect at work.     Sign HOPE's letter to legislators! Support public employee collective bargaining!
