Subject: Town of Chapel Hill and NAACP to Honor Community
Activists Friday, Aug 28 and Sunday, Sept 20
Two important upcoming events to put on your calendars....
The Town of Chapel Hill and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP will be honoring nine community activists on the anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington.
Those to be honored are Charlotte Adams, Hank Anderson, James Brittian, Joe Herzenberg, Mildred Ringwalt, Hubert Robinson, Joe Straley, Lucy Straley, and Gloria Williams.
The August 28 program will include biographical tributes read by members of the community and remarks by our branch president--Michelle Laws.
· Friday, Aug. 28, 5 to 6 p.m.
· An outdoor rally; Peace and Justice Plaza outside the Franklin St. Post Office
· Sunday, Sept 20, 3-4 p.m.
· Public unveiling of tribute marker at Peace and Justice Plaza
