More ways to take action for workers' rights:
Gather
petitions and make calls to assure passage of the Employee Free Choice Act that
would allow workers to join unions, penalize employers who attempt to subvert
fair elections, and assure a speedy contract upon a successful union election
outcome. Legislation details available at the AFL-CIO Employee Free Choice Act website.
Call Miriam Thompson, 919.370.4114,
for more information.
Call Rep. David Price 919.967.7924 to thank him for his co-sponsorship and urge
his leadership in moving HR 1409; call Sen. Kay Hagan to thank her for her
public support of S560, and ask that she add her name as co-sponsor; call
Richard Burr to oppose his decision to line up with corporations and Chambers
of Commerce to oppose human rights for workers. You can reach both senators on
the EFCA Senate hotline at 866.207.2060.
The Calendar Announcements message I sent this morning had incorrect dates for the Phone Banking entry. The dates below are correct. I regret the error. Thanks to Tom Munk for catching it. Peace, Tom
