Hi all,
This post explores the requirements for facilities that are fully covered by the rules, including alternate requirements for facilities that supply from farms and small facilities. The second post explored exemptions from certain parts of the rule for farm mixed-type facilities and small-scale facilities. The first post analyzed those farms and food enterprises that are completely exempt from the rule. The last post will analyze requirements for facilities that are fully covered by the rules, including requirements for facilities that supply from farms and small facilities.
If you are in the business of growing, producing or manufacturing food becoming knowledgeable and up-to-date on FSMA and what the related rules say (Preventative Controls Rule and the Produce Rule) is an absolute must.
Stay tuned for more information and opportunities for more in-depth education. Also, note that the other major FSMA rule impacting local food and family farmers, the Produce Rule, is expected to be released in October.
Thanks,
