Hi all,

The other day USDA quietly put out the call for review panel members for the Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program and for the Federal State Marketing Improvement Program.  These panels review and rank proposals and thus determine who and what get funded with the $30 million a year for FMLFPP that NSAC championed and won.

We need good people on these panels, especially for the local food portion of the FMLFPP but for all of it as well, to make sure the huge increase in farm bill funding that local food systems and sustainable agriculture advocates won in the farm bill process is used to its most effective ends.

This needs immediate attention if you are interested.  All of the details are in the USDA news release attached to this email.  Thanks for considering it, and for passing it along to other good folk.

Thanks,
