Hello all,

I’m writing to update you about a staffing transition for the Healthy Corner Stores Network (HCSN).  Tomorrow will be my last day on staff at the Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) and as a co-convener of the HCSN.  I have greatly enjoyed my involvement with this Network and the opportunity to  learn and work with many of you.

CFSC has hired a talented new staff person, Laurel MacMillan, to take my place and she will start work with CFSC and the HCSN on March 9.   Laurel has spent the past 10 years planning and implementing a variety of community and economic development strategies, from grassroots rural tourism development to using art and creativity as an economic development tool.  She is transitioning out of a position with Rural Development Initiatives, where she designed and implemented regional economic vitality programs. She has completed graduate studies at Portland State University in Urban and Regional Planning and Nonprofit Management.

As of March 9, you can reach Laurel at lau...@foodsecurity.org or 503-954-2970.

In the meantime,  if you have questions about HCSN activities you can visit our website (http://healthycornerstores.org) or contact Aleta Dunne at al...@foodsecurity.org.

The three other co-conveners of the HCSN will remain actively involved in planning and implementing HCSN activities:  Brianna Almaguer Sandoval of The Food Trust, Hannah Burton Laurison of Public Health Law & Policy (PHLP), and James Johnson-Piett of Urbane Development.   We are grateful for their important contributions and ongoing commitment to the HCSN.

Best wishes,

Kai Siedenburg
