Here is a message sent to Computer Lab staff; I thought I'd pass it along, but basically, it confirms what I said yesterday:

Attention Computer Lab Staff:

This is the time when many students are being asked to use the Writing Center for tutoring with their class assignments.

The students are being told to make an appt using the On-line appt sys. http://m.se.hccs.edu/Users/se.writingcenter/web/

The students should log-in using their AD account (Webmail acct). If they can't log-in, most likely they need to re-set their password via Helpdesk (88800); but, the student must tell the helpdesk operator to re-set their "AD password".  This can be very confusing for students who don't use campus computers or webmail, but need to use (log into) this appt system from home.

This email is to help clear up any misunderstandings about logging into Writing Center On-line Appt Sys.

Robert,

Thank you for addressing the issue. Also, if a tutor requests a time change, we can no longer set half hour times. In other words, a scheduled time for 10:30 must be set for 10:00, so the half hour before is blocked off. If the time is blocked consecutively (i.e. week to week or month to month), then all the scheduled times are deleted. We can work around that for now, but my concern is if it's a glitch in the system or has it become a default setting.

Selena

Hello,

I'll email Antonio -- but he's away until the end of the month, and Sandra tells me no one else can work on the system. I spoke with hims specifically about the need for half-hour segments; it seemed to be working before,. So, I'm not sure what's wrong. Can we manage until the week after next?

Students can select half hour times, so we're fine there. But, if we schedule a tutor's time beginning at a half hour, the system won't set it. We can manage until Antonio returns.
